To most of the world, Noah Bennet seems like a typical, if slightly geeky, suburbanite father. His loyalty to his family and his loyalty to his profession are frequently at odds. While it's clear that he loves Claire very much and would do anything to protect her, his methods indicate a level of ruthlessness that conflicts with his genuinely caring nature. For example, while he seems to initially show real concern for Isaac's well being and rehabilitation, he does not hesitate to have Eden use her persuasive powers to make Isaac use heroin again when he believes he needs to make use of Isaac's precognitive abilities. Similarly, while his use of the Haitian's memory modifying ability on Brody seems somewhat restrained given his intense anger at the boy, the casual use of the same ability on Zach and even his own family shows that his dedication to his job—and to keeping Claire safe—knows no limits. He does seem to possess his own moral code, though, as his intense reactions to Sylar's murders and Eden's father's callousness attest. According to his driver's license, his previous address is 9 Juniper Lane, Odessa, Texas. Noah Bennet speaks Japanese and also appears to speak at least a limited amount of Russian. Although he does not possess any powers, he is perhaps the most feared man in the series. His extensive experience in dealing with beings with superpowers allows him to be able to handle them effectively. Also, he displays considerable prowess in hand-to-hand combat and marksmanship.

I don't recall what I thought of Bennet the moment I first saw him. I think I thought he was a bad guy, or that he was Sylar, or something like that. But then, it was revealed that he was the cheerleader's dad! Ah! Dual life much? And yeah, he was the hot DILF with the glasses from then on.

I wanted HRG to be Claire's biological father posing as her adoptive father in order to conceal a power of his own, but Mr. Kring said no, and made Flying Man the cheerleaders bio-dad instead. 'S'ok. Daddy Bear can kick Bio-dad's Peter Pan ass anyday.

Some more of the greatness. This episode really opened my eyes about HRG's character. I just thought he was a hot, four eyed, daddy asshole/badass, who collected special people. Turns out, he's just a solider/family man.
